The conception of Jesus was made possible by the Holy Spirit, who is the third person of the eternal Godhead. Mary was overshadowed by the power of the Most High, and the Holy Ghost came upon her to make this mysterious conception holy. Jesus was to be called Immanuel, which means "God with us."
