May we come to a greater understanding that the blood of Christ provides forgiveness for our sins, but the cross deals with our old sinful self. We must learn to die to ourselves every day and live for Him. The shed blood of Christ procures our pardon from sin, but the cross procures our deliverance from the power of sin in our lives. Therefore, we must learn to die to ourselves daily so that we may live to Christ for His greater glory and our eternal benefit.
