Paul's exhortation is to "rejoice in the Lord." This means that we should not only be happy when things are going well, but we should also find joy in God during difficult times. God is good, kind, loving, merciful, and forgiving. His faithfulness is unfailing, and it is in focusing on Him that we can truly rejoice in any circumstance.
