Jesus teaches that the disciples were selected by Him for a specific purpose. His words encompass not just the selection of the twelve but also the divine grace meant for salvation. Those chosen are saved through grace and will persist in this grace, remaining united with Christ, producing the Spirit's fruit, and perpetuating Jesus' ministry within the Church.
