The intimate love between God the Father and the obedient Son is a model for the communion that should flow from Christ to His Church. Christ spoke to His disciples so His love and peace could reign in their hearts, and their joy might be full. The joy of the Lord is often found in the fellowship of His suffering and pain, fulfilling the good purpose of the Lord to their eternal benefit and the glory of God.
